Expedition Basecamp is the new online group where you can share your expedition stories, experiences, tips, images, requests, and more. You do not need to have attended one of our Expeditions to participate. However, you must have a free account and login to the site in order to post and upload images.
We had a great expedition to Lone Pine, Alabama Hills, and vicinity a couple of weeks ago. Better yet a wonderful group of fellow photographers accompanied us. We really had a great time!
We photographed the Alabama Hills at all hours of the day and night. A few of our images are included here. We hope to share more of the photographs soon, including those from the other participants. During the week between Christmas and New Years Eve we photographed Joshua Tree National Monument, the Noah Purifoy "Joshua Tree Outdoor Museum", and Indian Canyons. The weather was great during the days but the temperature really dropped once the sun went down. These images were from Joshua Tree and the Noah Purify museum. We plan to post some images from Indian Canyons soon.

In October, 2016 we spent several very stormy days in the vicinity of Mendocino. While we had a great time, the near hurricane force winds made for some very challenging image making. Fortunately we had our super heavy Bogen 3058 tripod with us, without which many of the photos we made on the trip would not have been possible. The first image is an image stack of 80 images from MacKerricher Beach extracted from about a 400 image time-lapse.
