Knights Ferry now lies within the Knights Ferry Recreation Area. Founded in 1849 the town still features several ruins and the longest covered bridge west of the Mississippi. It is located just off of highway 120/108 about 40 miles east of Modesto on the Stanislaus River. We have been visiting the site and photographing the buildings and covered bridge since the 1970s. Now that the site has been taken over by the Bureau of Land Management access to the various ruins have greatly improved.
This is a partial day event on Saturday, April 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
